'You shouldn't do it because...': Lust Stories 2 star Kajol shares a valuable piece of advice for young actresses
The Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge actress is currently promoting her upcoming series, The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha. In the latest interview, she was asked what advice she would give to young actresses entering the industry.
Bollywood actress Kajol has dealt with quite hurtful remarks in her career spanning more than three decades in the film industry. She was called dark and fat but she embraced herself with respect and dignity. However, it took a long time for her to accept that she is beautiful. At a time, when there is a large influx of talent in Bollywood, Kajol shared a valuable piece of advice for the young actresses.
The Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge actress is currently promoting her upcoming series, The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha. In the latest interview with Zoom, she was asked what advice she would give to young actresses entering the industry. She said that the young girls should not go under the knife because of any pressure. “God has made you in a particular way, and for what god has not made the way you wanted, there’s always make-up." Suparn Varma, the Trial’s director, who sat next to her added, “Or surgery.” To which, Kajol added, "Exactly, that’s what I mean. That it should be a personal choice, you shouldn’t do it because 25 people have told you to do it."
Talking about Kajol’s upcoming Disney+Hotstar show The Trial, she will be seen in the role of a housewife who is forced to take up work as a lawyer after her husband’s public scandal puts him in jail. The series is reportedly an Indian adaptation of the popular American series The Good Wife. Besides her, the show features Jissu Sengupta, Sheeba Chaddha and Kubbra Sait.
Meanwhile, Kajol was last seen in Amit Sharma’s short film for Netflix’s anthology series, Lust Stories 2. She appeared alongside Kumud Mishra and her performance was widely lauded. The other three short films in Lust Stories 2 were directed by Konkana Sen Sharma, R Balki and Sujoy Ghosh.
