'Wish Deepika had worn that dress' : Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh's ramp walk for Manish Malhotra fails to impress netizens

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt turned showstoppers for ace designer Manish Malhotra’s show yesterday night (July 20). Wearing gorgeous traditional outfits by the designer, they cascaded down the ramp with Ranveer also planting a kiss on how wifey Deepika Padukone’s cheeks who was cheerleading in the audience. However, it seems like the netizens were not entirely impressed with their ramp walk on the occasion.

Talking about Alia Bhatt, she wore a luxurious Manish Malhotra ivory-colored lehenga with a mermaid-cut blouse and a heavily embellished and printed skirt. She paired up the same with a sheer printed dupatta with intricate designs and prints. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh wore an embellished and printed ivory-colored sherwani with sheer detailing along with a white extended kurta and pants. He also took a brown printed dupatta to pair up with the look. Take a look at the video.

No sooner did the video go viral than netizens started reacting to the same. While some found Alia Bhatt’s walk unimpressive, others took a dig at Ranveer Singh for kissing his wife Deepika Padukone during the ramp walk. One of the netizens thought Deepika would have been a better choice to wear the showstopper dress. The comment said, “Wish Deepika had worn that dress... it would be a hit” while another netizen said, “It’s so obvious that she’s sucking in her stomach, doing fake laughter, going up on her tiptoes.” A user added, “She tries so hard to copy Deepika, This way of posing is just like how Deepveer poses every time.” A netizen went on to say, “She doesn’t look comfortable and looks so pretentious” while another user said, “Clearly she is struggling to walk to maintain that grace.” While some users also took a dig at Ranveer for kissing his wife. A comment said, “Who does this while walking the ramp?” while another user said, “This is what u do in the middle of the runway, I truly prefer model to be a runway stopper.”

Talking about Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the actors will soon be seen in Karan Johar’s directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The movie is all set to be released on July 28, 2023. This marks their second collaboration after Gully Boy.
