'Will she play my mother?' : Shah Rukh Khan wanted to cast Deepika Padukone in Jawan after watching Besharam Rang
Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he got the idea of roping in Deepika Padukone as his mother after watching her in Besharam Rang.

The star cast of Jawan celebrated the movie’s humongous success today in the form of a grand event in Mumbai today (September 15). Shah Rukh Khan looked dapper in a white shirt which he paired with a black belted blazer suit and pants along with a braided hairdo. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone looked stunning in a white backless saree with black borders. During the press conference event, the duo shared some interesting details about their experience of working on the blockbuster movie.
Talking about the same, Shah Rukh Khan made a hilarious revelation that made the crowd roar in laughter. He said that he suddenly thought of Deepika Padukone playing his mother Aishwarya in Jawan after watching her performing the song ‘Besharam Rang’ in their previous hit Pathaan. The superstar was heard saying, “I saw her performing on Besharam Rang and I thought Yeh Maa Ka role Karegi Kya? I asked Pooja (Dadlani- his manager) to ask Deepika about the same. After some time, Pooja returned to me saying that Deepika readily gave her nod for the role saying yes, I will do it.” However, the idea of Shah Rukh selecting Deepika for the role of a mother after watching her act on ‘Besharam Rang’ itself left the crowd in splits,
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone left the crowd in a frenzy as they grooved to the song ‘Chaleya’ from Jawan. The megastar could be seen acing the hook-step with ease. Take a look at the video.
Jawan’s director Atlee and actor Vijay Sethupathi who plays the antagonist in the movie were also present at the occasion. Other cast members like Sunil Grover, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, and others also attended the event. Nayanthara could not be present at the venue but sent a lovely video message congratulating the entire team.
