Today is the grand birthday of the legendary Shabana Azmi. Needless to say, her phone must have been incessantly ringing since morning. Not just that, her social media account is also filled with messages from many of her fans and followers. One such person who took to social media is none other than the extremely talented choreographer turned filmmaker Farah Khan.
On her part, Farah Khan took to special media and posted an extremely super special video that featured her and also as a surprise package, there was the spunky actress Urmila Matondkar. As a part of the grand birthday celebrations, Farah Khan had decorated the digits five and zero in flowers. There was also a floral bouquet which was brought in by the stunning Vidya Balan.
In the background, Farah Khan was seen announcing that Shabana Azmi has now turned 50 years old and that it happens to be her 50th birthday. Hearing that, Urmila Matondkar was extremely surprised. That’s when Vidya Balan stepped in and clear the confusion by stating that, ‘it was not the 50th birthday of Shabana Azmi, but the 40th’!
Farah Khan then took to the comments section and wrote, ‘Here with 2 of the best dancers in Bollywood!! @azmishabana18 n @balanvidya .. n oh.. there s also @urmilamatondkarofficial happy birthday Shabana’. One really wonders as to even though it was Shabana Azmi’s 74th birthday, there was a floral decoration that said 50!
Just like her other posts, this one too garnered many messages which were mostly birthday wishes for Shabana Azmi. One user wrote, ‘Happy Birthday to Shabana Azmi ji, who happens to be an integral part of the critically acclaimed film Arth, 1982), where she had portrayed the character of Niru, a woman struggling with infidelity and societal expectations. Her performance was lauded for its raw intensity and emotional depth, and it solidified her position as a leading actress in the Indian film industry. Mam, please come back to Bollywood.’
Another user wrote, ‘Dear Shabana mam, we are dying to see you and Urmila mama in a film that is being directed by Farah Khan with Shah Rukh Khan as the hero. There is nothing that Farah Mam cannot do in direction. And there is nothing that you and Urmila mam and Vidya mam cannot do in acting. Please listen to our wishes and please make a comeback in Bollywood’.
