When Varun Dhawan was surprised to find Gauri Khan at Shah Rukh Khan's home, thought he was married to Kajol

We all know one person who has in the 90’s mistaken Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol to be a real-life couple. Well, actor Varun Dhawan was no different from that lot when he was younger. The actor had once confessed that he thought Kajol and SRK were married in real life.

Varun who made an appearance on Kapil Sharma ’s show a few years earlier with Shah Rukh and Kajol to promote their film Dilwale, had revealed that he used to think that the Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge pair is married in real life.

When Kapil confessed that his mother thought Kajol and Shah Rukh were married in real life after Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Varun revealed he thought so too. He told the pair, “I thought you were married at that time, till I met Gauri ma’am obviously.”

Not only did Varun think Shah Rukh and Kajol were married, while collecting donations for National Blind Association once during his school days and when he arrived at the Bollywood star’s doorstep he was surprised to find Gauri Khan open the door and not Kajol.

He shared, “Main who NBA, ka chanda hum log ikatha karne jaate they school se, National Blind Association. Main apne doston ke saath gaya tha aur bola kisi ne ki Shah Rukh Khan ka ghar hai. Toh main chala gaya, laga bade paise milenge Shah Rukh Khan ka ghar hai. Doston ke saath gaya tha and Gauri ma’am ne darwaza khola. Toh mujhe kuch galat laga uss waqt. Phir maine ghar jaake ke pucha toh my mom told me then.”

The anecdote made Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol laugh out loud. Shah Rukh even mimicked what would have been Varun's reaction at meeting Gauri Khan at his house.
