When Shah Rukh Khan was ready to marry Riteish Deshmukh because of a first edition iPhone

Apart from being Bollywood’s Baadshah and the king of romance, superstar Shah Rukh Khan is a technophile. He has expressed his love for technology several times and is always excited to get his hands on the newest gadget in town. But did you know how he got his first ever iPhone even before it was available in India? Well, it was his good friend and fellow actor Riteish Deshmukh who made it possible.

When the first edition of the Apple iPhone was launched, Riteish was one of the only people in our country who got his hands on two such devices. This was because someone he knew got it from America for him, the very day that the phone was launched. As he knew that SRK is a huge technology fan, he sent one device to the superstar. As expected, Shah Rukh was super impressed and gave Riteish a call at 11 pm in the night the same day to thank him.

In an interview with Mashable India, Riteish had revealed, “At 11 pm that night, I got a call from him. He told me, 'Riteish, yaar yeh toh mindblowing cheez hai.' I told him that it is a gift from me to him. Then he said, 'I just want to tell you one thing. I am ready to marry you'.” How sweet is that?

Riteish and SRK have worked together a few times before. While Riteish had a special appearance in Om Shanti Om’s song Deewangi Deewangi, SRK played an important cameo in the former’s film Heyy Babyy. Even on the personal front, the two actors share a very strong bond. Riteish, who is an architect, designed the office of Shah Rukh’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment. Meanwhile, the superstar launched Riteish and wife Genelia’s plant-based meat venture called Imagine last year.

With iPhone 14 out, we wish we also had a friend like Riteish!
