When Nagarjuna called son Naga Chaitanya’s future fiancée Sobhita ‘HOT’ | Watch throwback video

Lovebirds Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala have made it official and got engaged earlier today at his residence in Hyderabad. Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, Chay's father, took to his social media handles to break the news to the public and shared engagement photos of the new couple online. 

Nagarjuna's comments about Sobhita

While netizens have been reacting with mixed emotions to the engagement news, an old video of Nagarjuna speaking about Sobhita has now been widely shared on social media platforms. The video dates back to 2018 when Nagarjuna Akkineni was invited to grace the success meet for actor Adivi Sesh and Sobhita Dhulipala’s film Goodachari. During his speech, the Telugu superstar called Sobhita "hot" and stated that he finds "something very attractive about her." “Ok, Sobhita Dhulipala… she was so good. I mean, I should not say it like this. She was hot in the film. I mean, there is something that is just so attractive about her,” Nagarjuna said. 

The video, which is now making rounds on social media, has been receiving flak from netizens, who are shocked by the awkward comments made by the senior actor. Many X (formerly Twitter) users called his comments "cringe," with some sarcastically raising concerns about how Chaitanya might react to the video.

Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita’s engagement

Earlier today, Nagarjuna took to his social media pages to announce the engagement of actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala. Sharing pictures from the engagement, the Telugu star wrote, “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love.” 

The heartwarming photos feature the newly engaged couple, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala, being embraced by Akkineni Nagarjuna. The couple, who have been dating for a couple of years now, decided to ‘hard launch’ their relationship through this engagement. However, the star couple are yet to comment or post photos on their social media pages. 

Before getting engaged to Sobhita, Naga Chaitanya was married to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu for four years until their divorce in 2021.
