What a supportive wife': Twitterati hail Deepika Padukone's sudden appearance in jeans and T-shirt for Ranveer Singh at Filmfare Award night

Last night, Bollywood beauties arrived in their haute couture gowns and sizzled on the red carpet of Wolf777news Filmfare Awards 2022 . But gorgeous Deepika Padukone gave it a miss and rather made a surprise appearance on the stage in a casual outfit wearing an oversized shirt paired up with boyfriend jeans. Yes, the actress had no plan to attend the event as she sat backstage only to support her husband and actor Ranveer Singh , who won the Best Actor award for 83.

When the winner announcement of Best Actor was made, Ranveer dragged her wife Deepika onto the stage. A video has gone viral where the couple is seen running to the stage happily to grab the trophy. Ranveer is also seen kissing Deepika on the stage and joked, “Ranveer Singh powered by Deepika Padukone.” Karan Johar can also be seen on the stage with them.

Soon after, Twitterati couldn’t hold themselves from praising Deepika, who ditched gowns and opt for a simpler avatar and was there only to support her husband. While many called it the major highlight of the event, some lauded Deepika as a supportive wife. “What a supportive wife Deepika is ..!! Her husband is truly a very lucky man. DP didn’t want any limelight/focus on herself. Avoided cameras, red-carpet, didn’t sit at the main area.. stayed backstage throughout.. was there just for him.” tweeted one of them.

Another video surfaced online in which Deepika is watching Ranveer, Kriti Sanon, and Vicky Kaushal celebrating their wins post the Filmfare awards. Meanwhile, workwise Deepika will next be seen in Pathan alongside Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham.
