'We must pass this to every generation..': Adipurush star Kriti Sanon wants kids to watch the mythological drama
Kriti took to Instagram to post videos of her little fans and wrote, "I’m so happy that these lil ones and today’s generation is getting to watch Ramayana on the big screen."
Ahead of the release of Adipurush, Kriti Sanon shared a series of cute videos of kids singing Jai Shree Shyam, and mimicking the dialogue of her character Janaki on social media. The actress acknowledged the fact that visuals have a strong impact on children and that Ramayana is part of history which should pass to every generation. Hence, she requested the audience to bring their child along to watch the mythological drama.
Kriti took to Instagram to post videos of her little fans and wrote, “As a child, the impact of visuals is a lot more than that of stories we hear. Our Visual memory is stronger and stays with us longer. I’m so happy that these lil ones and today’s generation is getting to watch Ramayana on the big screen. Ramayana is a very important part of our history, culture & values and we must pass this to every generation.#Adipurush releases tomorrow in theatres and I request you all to take your kids along to watch this film. Jai Siya Ram(sic).”
Directed by Om Raut, the film is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, which will see Prabhas playing the role of Ayodhya’s prince Raghava and Kriti Sanon will feature as his wife Janaki. Actor Saif Ali Khan will portray the antagonist Lankesh, the demon king of Lanka, while Lakshmana will be essayed by Sunny Singh. Devdutta Nage is roped in to play the role of Lord Hanuman. The film also has Vatsal Sheth, Trupti Toradmal and Sonal Chauhan as part of the cast.
According to the latest reports, the film’s advance booking numbers have been phenomenal. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh stated that the total tickets sold for weekend 1 in PVR and INOX are 4,79,811. It is expected that the film will mint around Rs 80- Rs 100 crore net (including all languages) on the opening day. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on June 16, 2023.
