Vivek Agnihotri takes a dig at Shah Rukh Khan's 'positivity' as actor's fans send him abusive messages amidst Pathaan row
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri took a dig at Shah Rukh Khan for his 'positivity' speech at KIFF as the actor's fans send abusive messages to the filmmaker.
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri once again stirred up controversy in the name of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as he posted screen grabs of abusive messages sent to him for targeting the actor’s song Beshram Rang from Pathaan .
The Kashmir Files filmmaker had earlier on joined in the social media protest against Pathaan for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through the colour of Deepika Padukone’s bikini in the song. He had further called out the song for being inappropriate by sharing a provocative video of a young girl’s reaction to Besharam Rang who accuses the film industry of being disrespectful to women by showing them in skimpy clothes.
Vivek was brutally trolled online for sharing the video as netizens dug out pictures of his daughter Mallika in an orange bikini. Th filmmaker has now once again taken a dig at Shah Rukh Khan for the speech he gave at the Kolkata International Film Festival and spoke about being ‘positive’ amidst the negativity online. He took a jibe at the actor by sharing screen grabs on Twitter of the abuses his alleged fans have been dropping in his inbox.
Vivek wrote in his tweet, “Badshah was right. There is negativity on social media. (But we are positive).”
The tweet was a dig at Shah Rukh’s KIFF speech where the actor reacted to the Besharam Rang row soon after its release and said, "Social media is often driven by a certain narrowness of view that limits human nature to its baser self. I read somewhere, negativity increases social media consumption. Such pursuits enclose the collective narrative making it divisive & destructive. No matter what the world does, people like us will stay positive."
Vivek’s tweet once again backfired as Shah Rukh Khan’s fans further trolled the filmmaker in replies by sharing screen grabs of his old seemingly inappropriate tweets. After Vivek’s vocal objection to the Pathaan song on social media, people have also pointed fingers at the filmmaker for having made erotic films like Hate Story and Zid himself.
