Filmmaker S. U. Arun Kumar made quite an impression on audiences with his directorial debut, Chithira. And now he's making a movie diametrically opposed to the hard-hitting Chithira. Starring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role, Veera Dheera Sooran seems like a typical commercial entertainer catering to mass audiences' tastes.

Arun Kumar recently revealed that he doesn't want to be limited to making just one kind of the movie. He expressed his desire to make films of all genres, from social dramas to action thrillers. "As a filmmaker, I want to make socially responsible films. I want to make films in every genre. That's what excites me. This film is my new attempt," he told Cinema Vikatan.

The director revealed that he had only completed 30 percent of the shoot while describing his experience of working with Vikram as "humbling."

"It's amazing, I get to learn a lot. He taught me to be humble no matter how successful we become. He trusts me enough to let me make my film. It's an action thriller with drama. It's an emotional film too," he added, while refusing to delve further into the movie.

Arun has unveiled two teasers for Veera Dheera Sooran. Both the promos hinted at Vikram's mysterious past while promoting an action-packed drama. The previous teaser revealed that the film will be split into two parts, with the filmmakers releasing Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 before Part 1.

In the film, Vikram plays a seemingly ordinary man who runs a grocery store in a working-class neighbourhood. But, there seems to be more to him than meets the eye, including a history of violence. The film seems like a fan-pleasing mass entertainer, which is very distinct from Chithira, a movie on child safety which was termed as "hard to watch" by many.
