Vijay 69 actor Anupam Kher receives a priceless gift from his mentor Mahesh Bhatt; calls it 'the ultimate...'

Whenever there is a mention of greatest teachers and mentors of all times, the one name that will undoubtedly make its way to the top is that of the veteran actor Anupam Kher. It is this man who has mentored many a budding talent, in person as well as through his acting institute. Those who have learnt under him, always swear by his teaching skills.

At the same time, many of us are aware of the fact that there is a teacher and a mentor even for Anupam Kher. And the name of that person is none other than Mahesh Bhatt, the prolific filmmaker, who gave Anupam Kher his first ever Bollywood film (his debut film ‘Saaransh’).

Talking about Mahesh Bhatt and Saaransh, the veteran actor Anupam Kher took to social media and shared an extremely interesting post. He posted a priceless pic of him and his mentor Mahesh Bhatt, wherein the latter is gifting the former a 40-year commemorative poster of Saaransh.

On his part, Anupam Kher not only posted the said pic, but also captioned the same as, ‘What you can see is how excited I’m to receive this from my guru, friend, philosopher & guide #MaheshBhattSaab who congratulated me on completing 40 years in the Indian film industry! I have been fortunate to have received a lot of love for my work over the years but today, I feel, I have received the ultimate prize.

What you don’t see in this picture are the many drops of tears that fell when this unfolded. You don’t see my emotions, you don’t see how this gesture of love and kindness from Bhatt Saab totally overwhelmed me and brought back so many memories. I kept reading what he has written for me and I was speechless. I couldn’t speak a word and sat down holding his hand in gratitude.

#BhattSaab is a man who gave me my identity as an actor on screen. He guided me to be the human and the artist that I grew into. He transformed me on every level. I’m forever indebted to him for making me believe in myself.. THANK YOU BHATT SAAB!

On the film front, Anupam Kher will now be seen in the film Vijay 69, a super inspirational film about a man named Vijay, who fights all the odds to participate in the triathlon. Does he manage to win the triathlon against all the odds is what forms the rest of the film.

Besides Anupam Kher, the film Vijay 69 also stars Chunky Pandey and Mihir Ahuja in all important roles. While the film has been directed by Akshay Roy, it has been written by Akshay Roy and Abbas Tyrewala. The film is being released on Netflix today (November 8).
