Vidya Balan hilariously goofs up winning speech for Jalsa thinking it's for Sherni: 'Dono mein performance itni achi thi sa maan bhi gaye'

Vidya Balan is so talented that it is hard to guess which film she has won an award for. While it is common for fans to be confused, Vidya Balan herself became confused while accepting the Best Actress trophy for her OTT film Jalsa at the pan-Indian OTT Play Awards 2022 .

In a hilarious goof up, Vidya Balan gave an acceptance speech for her film Sherni and was also about to wrap when she was informed that she has actually has won for her film Jalsa. The actress then perfectly made up for the her the goof up and said that the winning for Jalsa made the award even more special.

Correcting her course Vidya went on to say, “This is all the more special if it is for Jalsa, because this is my first award for Jalsa. I share a wonderful relationship with Suresh Triveni with whom I did Tumhari Sulu and this was such a different film. I got to share screen space with one of my favourites Shefali Shah in this film so I want to share this with her and Surya Kasibhatla who played my son and is a child with cerebral palsy and is such an amazing actor. I am grateful that I got the opportunity to work with him.”

Post her speech Vidya laughed on stage about her goof up and said, “I still can’t believe this has happened.” Host, Manish Paul joked, “Ma’am aap actually trophy ke peeche dusra sticker Sherni ka bhi laga lein, aapne itn badhiya kiya hai.”

The first edition of OTT Play Awards 2022 was held in Mumbai on Saturday. The one of a kind pan-Indian awards celebrated digital talents from all regions awarding the standouts of the web series OTT films of the year gone by.
