Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video box office collection day 1: Rajkummar Rao’s film mints Rs 5 crore, wins opening day clash against Alia Bhatt

Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video won this week’s box office clash by earning Rs 75,000 more than Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra on its opening day collection. The Raaj Shaandilya-directed romantic comedy drama film earned a total of Rs 5 crore on day one of its release.

According to the industry tracking website Sacnilk, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video witnessed 17.18 percent occupancy across India, earning Rs 5 crore on its opening day. The film had 3500 shows across the country and registered 14.50 percent occupancy in Mumbai and 16.75 percent occupancy with 993 shows in the Delhi-NCR region. 

The film faced a box office clash with Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra. The action-packed adventure film, directed by Vasan Bala also stars The Archies actor Vedang Raina. The film lagged behind Rajkummar Rao starrer in terms of box office collections and recorded a total collection of Rs 4.25 crore on its opening day. The film marked the second-lowest opener of Alia’s career since Highway (2014).

Helmed by Raaj Shaandilya, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video starring Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri, Vijay Raaz, Archana Puran Singh, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania, and Ashwini Kalsekar, Mallika Sherawat hit the theatres on October 11.  

Rajkummar Rao was last seen in horror-comedy film Stree 2 which turned out to be one of the highest grossing films in Bollywood. The Amar Kaushik directorial film also starrer Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, Shraddha Kapoor among others. The 2024 released film earned Rs 873.70 crore worldwide.

Triptii on the other hand is the new national crush of India. The actress last starred in a comedy drama film titled Bad Newz, alongside actor Vicky Kaushal and Amy Virk. The film proved to be a success at the box office with Rs 102.77 crore worldwide. She will be seen next alongside actor Kartik Aaryan in the third installment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise titled Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
