Vicky Kaushal holds the IIFA Best Actor trophy for Sardar Udham close to his heart; pens an emotional note
Actor Vicky Kaushal’s hard work in Sardar Udham paid off last night when he won his first ever IIFA Best Actor award for his marvelous portrayal of the freedom fighter.
In his Bollywood career, which spans over 10 magical long years, Vicky Kaushal has been nominated in various categories at the prestigious International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA). He bagged Best Debut Actor for Masaan and won Best Supporting Actor for Sanju. He was also nominated under the Best Actor category twice, for his incredible work in Raazi and Uri: The Surgical Strike. However, he didn’t win. Well, as they say, third time’s the charm. Last night at the 22ndIIFA awards, Vicky finally lifted the Best Actor trophy for his performance in Sardar Udham .
It was a proud moment for the actor as well as his millions of fans, who truly feel his hard work paid off once again. Well, today morning Vicky shared a special snap with his trophy. In the post, he held the award close to his heart while the emotional caption read, “Behind all that jazz it’s that boy who once thought everything he wished to achieve was all too far. Waited for you since forever… not leaving you tonight! IIFA Best Actor! Thank You @shoojitsircar for believing in me and making it possible for me and thank you Team #SardarUdham, this one’s for all of us.”
The handsome hunk went on to add, “For everyone who voted for this win, I love you! @iifa.” Other than Best Actor, Shoojit Sircar ’s biographical historical drama also won awards in the Best Cinematography, Best Special Effects and Best Editing categories at the star-studded event. The film, which took the digital route and released on Amazon Prime Video , followed the story of freedom fighter Udham Singh.
