Vettaiyan: Manju Warrier terms Manasilaayo success as a 'blessing', teases impactful role in Rajinikanth-starrer

Ever since Vettaiyan’s first single Manasilaayo was released, the internet has been flooded with reels and fans dancing to the new song, which combines lyrics in both Malayalam and Tamil. Malayalam actress Manju Warrier, who shook a leg with superstar Rajinikanth in the song, has been praised for her cheerful screen presence in the film, making her an overnight sensation among non-Tamil and non-Malayalam audiences.

At the recent audio launch event of Vettaiyan, the Malayalam actress expressed her joy over the song Manasilaayo’s positive reception and thanked the fans for its success. She also acknowledged that the overwhelming response as a 'blessing' in her career. She said, “We shot the song with great enthusiasm. We never thought fans would enjoy it so much, and I thank all of you for its success. I have been receiving overwhelming feedback for the song, and it makes me really happy. I never expected this sort of response, and I am glad to be a part of it.”

She added that she considers herself lucky to be working alongside Rajinikanth in this massive film and praised director TJ Gnanavel for writing a meaty role for her. “I have been blessed so far, and I hope to be showered with greater opportunities like this. I just wish to do films with great artists and filmmakers, in good scripts that resonate with audiences. In this film, every character has its own journey and prominence. As you know, Gnanavel sir wouldn’t write roles just for the sake of fitting them into the story. So, just like other characters, my character also has its due importance in the film, and I am sure you will see it for yourself.”

Manju Warrier as Thara in Vettaiyan

As announced in the character reveal promo, Manju Warrier will be playing the role of Thara, Rajinikanth’s wife in the film. She plays the role of a vlogger in the movie and is all set to share screen space with Rajinikanth for the first time in her career.

Vettaiyan Prevue

The recently released prevue or teaser reveals Amitabh Bachchan's character, Sathyadev, questioning why actions of encounter specialists are not traced despite many capable officers. Rithika Singh’s character explains that they are seen as heroes for killing wanted criminals. The glimpse introduces Rajinikanth as a stylish cop fighting for justice and also showcases Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, and others. The teaser ends with a courtroom scene where Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan have an ultimate face-off sequence.

Vettaiyan is slated for a grand Dussehra release on October 10, 2024, and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
