Vettaiyan: Fahadh Faasil looks cheerful in Rajinikanth’s cop action drama

Happy birthday, Fahadh Faasil! On the special occasion of the Mollywood powerhouse of talent’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming Tamil film, Vettaiyan, starring Rajinikanth in the lead, took to their social media handles to share the first-look poster of the actor from the film. Extending birthday wishes to the actor, the makers wrote, “Team VETTAIYAN wishes our dearest Fahadh Faasil a Happy Birthday. Your artistry and dedication bring characters to life. May this year bring even more incredible roles and success.”

The new poster features a happy-looking Fahadh, who is seen smiling and waving at someone. Sporting a green floral shirt, the actor’s new look has fans excited, as they cannot wait to see the versatile actor share screen space with superstar Rajinikanth in their first collaboration.

As per earlier reports, Fahadh will be playing a comedic role in Vettaiyan. The actor, who has mesmerised audiences with his serious roles, will be seen in a refreshing avatar for the cop action drama. His funny character will be different from the villain roles he usually plays in Tamil films. 

Reports also indicate that superstar Rajinikanth will be playing the role of a police officer advocating for righteousness. Fahadh’s character seems to be a close aide to Rajinikanth’s character in the TJ Gnanavel directorial.

About Vettaiyan

Directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame, Vettaiyan stars Rajinikanth, who is said to be playing the role of a cop in the upcoming action drama. Besides Rajinikanth and Fahadh Faasil, the film will also feature Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Kishore, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Shaji Chen, Ramesh Thilak, Rakshan, and GM Sundar, among others.

Even before the film completed its filming, the digital partner for the film was confirmed. According to sources, the film’s OTT rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime for a massive price. The film will be available for streaming on the OTT giant after its theatrical run. The film is slated to have a Diwali release this year.
