Veteran actress and talk show host Tabassum died in Mumbai following a heart attack.
Veteran actress and talk show host Tabassum has died in Mumbai following a heart attack. The former child actor who was still actively working died on Friday evening in a Mumbai based hospital according to her son Hoshang Govil.
Confirming the sad news of Tabbassum’s demise her son Hoshang told PTI, "Few days ago, she was admitted to a hospital. She had gastro problem and we went there for check-up. She suffered two cardiac attacks at 8.40 pm and 8.42 pm. She passed away peacefully on Friday night.”
Hoshang had last year confirmed in a statement that Tabassum had not heart related problems or any other major ailments after rumours of her suffering from Alzheimer’s caught wind. The actress was also working actively on her YouTube show Tabassum Talkies.
Famous for her Doordarshan talk show ‘Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan’, Tabassum was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai due to a gastro problem. The film talk show was immensely popular and ran on Doordarshan from 1972 to 1993.
As a child she had played the younger version of actresses like Nargis and Meena Kumari. She was seen in films like Nargis, Baiju Bawra, Bari Behen among others. She also was a charcter actor in many films after growing up.
