Soon after the shooting for director Bala's drama, Vanangaan, which stars Arun Vijay, concluded, the makers announced the release date. We have just come to know that the film will be released in theatres in July 2024. Although the exact date has not been confirmed, this update has fans excited and eager to watch Bala and Arun collaborate for the first time.

    Vanangaan to clash with Thangalaan?

Vanangaan is currently in its post-production stage. Given the release-date announcement, it seems that it may clash with Vikram’s Thangalaan at the box office.

Arun had taken to his social media handles to share that the shooting of Vanangaan had been wrapped up. In a heartfelt note, the actor wrote, “It's a wrap for Vanangaan. Thank you Bala Sir, it has been an honour and privilege to have worked with you, a truly priceless experience. Feeling the exhilaration on the completion of an extraordinary character in a project very close to my heart. Thank you to my Producer Suresh Kamatchi sir and the wonderful team.”

The actor had also shared a few photos of the cast and crew from the last day of their shoot.

    More about Vanangaan

Written, directed and co-produced by Bala, Vanangaan is an action drama with Arun playing the lead role. A teaser for the film that was released earlier showed the actor in a gritty avatar. The film is set in Kanyakumari and the teaser shows Arun's character being handcuffed by cops. Roshni Prakash, who plays the female lead, appears in various looks, including Swami Vivekananda and in a saint-like white saree. One scene also shows Arun's character punching her.

The teaser also shows Arun ruthlessly fighting goons and rising from a well, covered in mud and holding the sculptures of Lord Ganesh and social reformer Periyar.
