'Utterly cringy..and forced': Ananya Panday’s cousin Ahaan recreates SRK's dialogue from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, gets trolled

Ahaan Panday has decided to make his career in Bollywood just like her cousin Ananya Panday. He has reportedly signed his first film with Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films. He is under the YRF talent division which has managed the careers of Bollywood stars Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Bhumi Pednekar among others. Amid his intensive grooming for a big Bollywood break, a video of him surfaced on Reddit which triggered trolls.

The short clip shows Ahaan, in a white shirt and grey blazer, recreating superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic dialogue ‘Ek tarfa pyaar ki taqat’ from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). Directed by Karan Johar, the film features Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, while SRK did a cameo. Ahaan’s acting video seems to be from one of his audition albums. While the newbie could be seen trying hard to ace the scene, netizens found it cringy. A section of Reddit users criticised his acting skills and called him a ‘nepo baby’.

“+100000 points for the confidence that he shoots these videos and how these videos land on the internet If it were me, I would be embarrassed for my phone which has these videos, I would probably burn the phone’s chip so that the videos never see the light of day. These nepo babies have confidence bhai.” wrote one of the users. The second user stated, “Instead of that, maybe go act in a stage play, god forbid, engage with the low level people and act in dimly lit theaters for the love of the craft. But why do that, when Zoya Aunty and KJO uncle will find some pathetic remake for you to star in and all your dreams come true in one shot.”

“He’s… Bad. Ugh but even he will be shoved down our throats. I suggest all bad NepoBabies to undergo auditions for movies amongst each other. Choose the best NepoBaby out of them, then. IDC where someone comes from, but at least KNOW YOUR JOB,” read a comment. “There's not a flicker of emotion behind his eyes. The best actors emote well through their eyes. It's a golden rule of the profession. This guy only moves his face too much and believes he's acting,” read another comment.
