A video shared by Instant Bollywood shows Urvashi being asked about her opinion on Sonali’s statement, “a large chunk of women only care about getting a well-earning boyfriend or husband, instead of standing up for themselves and creating their own identity.” Reacting to this she said, “The thing is that this doesn’t apply to me. You already know I am an outsider. And everybody knows how I am so hardworking. I have made my career in Bollywood and globally people know about me. I am the only Indian who won Miss Universe twice, and I am the youngest judge to judge Miss Universe. So this doesn’t apply to me but applies to those velleis out there. I don’t want to hurt anybody.” Watch the video here:
Soon after the video surfaced, netizens flooded the comment section with their reactions. “Self-obsessed women I am this I am that what was the question and what she replied,” wrote one of the users. Another commented, “She should be against this statement in general instead of just self-obsession.” “Defending yourself by disrespecting other women are you serious,” added another. For the unversed, Sonali tendered an apology post backlash over her statement. She shared a long note apologizing for hurting the sentiments of Indian women.
