    Heropanti 2 actress Tara Sutaria is reported to have been cast as the second lead in South Indian superstar Yash’s upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups. Tara is the second Bollywood actress to be cast alongside Yash, the first being actress Kiara Advani.

    An industry source told Peepingmoon.com that Tara is overjoyed to have landed a prominent role in such a huge project. She plays one of the two romantic interests of the Kannada superstar, the first being Kiara Advani.

    The film is expected to have several strong female characters. According to reports, Nayanthara and Huma Qureshi also have prominent roles in Toxic. While Nayanthara will play Yash’s sister, Huma is expected to play an antagonist in the film.

    Set in the 1950s, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is a thriller-drama film that tells the tale of a gangster. K.G.F. Chapter 2 actor Yash plays a mafia don in the film. The star cast has already begun shooting for the film, which is expected to be released in theatres on April 10, 2025, in all major Indian languages.

    Yash is currently busy shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and will resume shooting for Toxic in September. Yash plays Ravan in Ramayana, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Ram and Sita, respectively.

    With an extravagant set, the shoot for Toxic is expected to go on for 200 days. Helmed by Geethu Mohandas, the film is backed by Yash and Venkat K Narayana under their respective banners, Monster Mind Creations and KVN Productions.

    Tara Sutaria's previous work

    Tara made her acting debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 alongside Ananya Panday and Tiger Shroff. She went on to star in films such as Marjaavaan, Ek Villain Returns, and Tadap. Her last film was Apurva, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat.

    Yash's tryst with national fame

    Yash, a popular Kannada actor, gained national fame and recognition after his 2018 blockbuster hit K.G.F. Chapter 1, which was a pan-Indian release. The audience also praised its sequel, K.G.F. Chapter 2, released in 2022, which also starred Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt.

    He made his acting debut with the Kannada film Jambada Hudugi in 2007 and starred in other hit Kannada films such as Rocky, Gokula, Lucky, Jaanu, and Drama, among others.
