Tiku Weds Sheru producer Kangana Ranaut accuses movie mafia of harming her film with fake reviews, smear campaign

Kangana Ranaut’s maiden production venture Tiku Weds Sheru finally released on Amazon Prime Video today, i.e. June 23, 2023. Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur, the romantic comedy revolves around two quirky characters who dream of becoming film stars. While the film opened to mixed reviews, Kangana claimed that the movie mafia is harming her film with ‘paid fake trends and reviews’.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the Tanu Weds Manu actress wrote, “People are sending me messages that they are loving the poetry in the film, yes all the shayari in the film is written by me.. also movie mafia doing everything to harm my film, fake reviews, and smear campaign started even before it's release. Anyway, it's streaming now please watch it for yourself or only ask your friends or people that you know about the reviews of the film if they saw it before you, don't go by paid fake trends or reviews. also do write your feedback after you watch it... Happy watching Tiku Weds Sheru.”

Much ahead of the release, Tiku Weds Sheru made headlines because of the kissing scene between the actors in the movie. The netizens criticised a specific scene where the on-screen husband played by Nawazuddin locks lips with Avneet who plays his wife because of their age difference. For those unaware, Kangana earlier revealed that the film was originally named Divine Lovers and she and Irrfan Khan was supposed to be the main lead.

Meanwhile, Kangana was last seen in actioner Dhaakad which tanked at the box office. She will next feature in Tejas in which she plays a pilot. She also has a political drama, Emergency, in which she would be seen in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Besides these, she also has Chandramukhi 2 and a biopic on Bengali theatre legend Binodini Dasi aka Noti Binodini.
