‘This is the family I am born into’: Janhvi Kapoor on being trolled for her lineage, taking motivation from it
Sta kid Janhvi Kapoor shares how tired she is of being apologetic of her legacy
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor began her journey in the Hindi film industry in 2018 with Karan Johar’s film Dhadak. She gave it her all, her screen presence was refreshing and her chemistry with Ishaan Khatter was natural and adorable. While some discussed her performance, many others overlooked it and were focused on the fact that she is superstar Sridevi and filmmaker Boney Kapoor ’s daughter. In the last 5 years, Janhvi not only made her mark in the industry as a talented young actress, but also proved her versatility by experimenting in different genres and taking up diverse roles.
While the trolling and nepotism remarks did affect her, she tried her best to justify the opportunities she got with her work. Speaking about the same at the India Today Conclave 2023, Janhvi shared, “The legacy angle had become my identity. Now, it’s a source of motivation. I reached a point in my life where I was so tired of being apologetic about it. This is my lineage. This is the family I am born into. This is the work they have done. Why should I let it take away from who am I? It is what it is now.”
Janhvi further added that she is grateful for everything she got in life and will make sure to work harder to prove her worth. Well, thanks to her hard work, passion and perseverance, the star kid recently signed her dream project with one of her forever favourites! We are talking about her next film NTR 30, co-starring RRR actor Jr NTR, which Janhvi announced on her birthday. But that’s not the only exciting project in her current line up. Janhvi will also be reuniting with her Roohi co-star Rajkummar Rao in her first ever sports film Mr. & Mrs. Mahi. The actress also has Bawaal with Varun Dhawan on the way, which is a romantic period action drama.
