'They are not concentrating on their acting': Nawazuddin Siddiqui takes a sharp dig at Bollywood celebs' obsession with their airport looks
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is currently promoting Jogira Sara Ra Ra, shared his take on the Bollywood's obssession with airport looks.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently busy promoting his upcoming comedy-drama, Jogira Sara Ra Ra in which he stars opposite Neha Sharma. In a recent interview, he took a dig at the actors who focus more on airport looks than their acting.
The Gangs of Wasseypur actor was asked if he cares about the airport look, he told Free Press Journal, “These actors wear different clothes designed by various fashion designers and put it on social media. It’s like promoting fashion designers. They are not concentrating on their acting, which is their job.” Furthermore, he also opened up about star culture in Bollywood and said he wants to be called an actor. “I would just like to be a good actor. I would prefer to be called an actor. I don’t wish to add the star tag to my name. Main actor hi rahoon yahi meri koshish hai. I want to be an actor with depth. However, when I get deep down into being an actor a fear seeps into me. There are so many techniques to be followed as an actor in a different manner,” he added.
Talking about Jogira Sara Ra Ra, the film is written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali, directed by Kushan Nandy and produced by Naeem A Siddiqui. Mahaakshay Chakraborty, Sanjay Mishra and Zarina Wahab are also part of the cast of the film. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 12. 2023. Meanwhile, Nawazuddin's Afwaah has hit the theatres today(May 5) and has been garnering positive reviews. Directed by Sudhir Mishra and backed by Anubhav Sinha, the film also stars Bhumi Pednekar, Sumeet Vyas and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles. Up next, Nawazuddin will also be seen in Kangana Ranaut’s Tiku Weds Sheru alongside Avneet Kaur. He also has Noorani Chehra co-starring Nupur Sanon.
