The Sabarmati Report teaser: Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna are journalists trying to uncover the ‘truth of Godhra’

Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna are all set to feature next in the political drama film, The Sabarmati Report, scheduled to hit the theatres on November 15. The makers of the film released the teaser of the film, giving a peek into all the drama that is soon going to unfold on the silver screen. According to the teaser, the film revolves around journalists who investigate the case of Godhra train burning incident which happened in 2002.

The makers shared the film’s teaser on social media on October 25. The teaser begins with the introduction of Vikrant Massey’s character in a courtroom who is seen asking, “Ye sab mein kyu arrange karunga, ye sab to ye karenge na jo kururwar hai (Why would I arrange all these things, those who have committed the crime will arrange this).”

Later, other characters in the film are introduced such as Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra, while a voiceover in the background says, “Har desh ki soch or rajnetik itihas mein ek aisa waqt aata hai jo uska itihas badal data hai. Amrika ke liye wo 9/11 that or Bharat ke liye waisa hi ek waqt  dastak dene wala tha.”

As soon as the voiceover ends, Vikrant’s character reaches the Godhra station. Later, the horrifying incident of Godhra is showcased where the train is on fire.

Vikrant is seen screaming, “Godhra ka sach kha ke baeth gaye, ek din desh ka baccha baccha jawab mangega tumse (You have not disclosed the truth about Godhra, one day every child would want answers from you).”

Later, a man tells Ridhi, “Centre ki train Uttar Pradesh se ho ke jati hai, aane wale waqt mein wo train Gujarat se ho kar jayegi (The train that goes through Uttar Pradesh will pass through Gujarat in future).”

Amid chaotic scenes, Ridhi Dogra’s voiceover says, “Is desh ke logo mein gussa bhara hua hain. Ek chingari lagegi or lakho ghar jalenge (The people of this country are angry; with one spark, multiple houses will be burned).”

Then, Vikrant and Raashii are seen investigating the case on their own. The teaser ends with Vikrant saying, “hamara desh duniya mein sabse badi democracy hai judge sahab, aaj ka hindustan jawab dena bhi janta hai or sawal puchna bhi janta hai (Our country is the largest democracy in the world. Today’s Hindustan knows how to give answers and how to ask questions as well).”

The makers captioned the post, “Aaj ka Hindustan jawaab dena bhi jaanta hai, aur sawaal poochna bhi! The truth can be rattled, but not defeated. #TheSabarmatiReportTeaser OUT NOW! #TheSabarmatiReport in cinemas 15th November.”

Helmed by Ranjan Chandel, The Sabarmati Report starring Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna, will release on November 15. The political drama film is produced by Ektaa Kapoor, and Shobha Kapoor.
