The Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes gets its first teaser
Lionsgate studios released the first teaser to The Hunger Games prequel movie called The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
The movie will be based on the prequel novel written by Suzanne Collins and will follow the rise in power of a young Coriolanus Snow, the main antagonist of the novel.
the movie is set to release in 2023 and actor Tom Blyth known for his work in the 2018 movie Scott and Sid fame has been cast in the lead role of the young Snow.
Rachel Zegler of West Side story fame has been cast as Lucy Gray Baird the female lead and the main romantic interest of Coriolanus Snow, Francis Lawrence will be directing the project.
Lawrence had directed The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and its Sequels so it is safe to say that the movie is in the hands of someone who is well versed in the source material.
While the teaser has no live-action footage, it does reveal the logo of the new movie, hopefully, we will get more footage later this year, as it has been eight years since the last Hunger Movie came out.
The Hunger Games franchise was a big success for Lionsgate and was one of the most successful franchises of the mid-2000s, and grossed over 2.9 billion dollars worldwide and won multiple awards.
The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbird and Snakes will hit the big screen on November 17, 2023.
