The new poster features a stunning Malavika as Aarathi, her character from the film. She is adorned with tribal ornaments, and a piece of cloth wrapped around her waist. The actress also wears a headdress and holds a large wooden stick, gazing fiercely to one side. This magnificent avatar of the actress has left audiences eager to see her on the big screen soon. For those unfamiliar, Malavika plays a tribal goddess in Thangalaan.

Malavika on her challenging filming journey with Thangalaan

In a recent interview, Malavika revealed that her role as Aarathi in the Vikram-starrer was one of the most challenging roles she has ever played. The actress shared that she had to visit more than five doctors, including a dermatologist, due to the physical demands of the role. She added that her makeup alone took nearly five hours to apply, and the prolonged wear caused her to develop rashes on her skin.

She also recounted having to ride a buffalo for one of the scenes. Initially, she thought director Pa Ranjith was joking when he asked her to do it, as she wasn’t prepared for such a task and was quite taken aback.
