Producer Archana Kalpathi announced on Monday that Zee Network has acquired the satellite rights to the upcoming Tamil movie, The Greatest of All Time, starring Thalapathy Vijay. "Happy to announce @ZeeTamil has bagged the satellite rights for #TheGreatestOfAllTime!" she tweeted. The network now holds the rights to all versions of the movie, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Currently, most Tamil movies struggle to secure pre-release deals, which are crucial for producers to cover mounting production costs. However, films featuring leading stars, especially Thalapathy Vijay, continue to set new records in terms of non-theatrical revenue.

According to reports, the film's streaming rights have also fetched record revenue for the producers. It is said that Netflix has bought the post-theatrical streaming rights to the movie for over Rs 100 crore . While the exact number is unknown, industry sources claim it is one of the biggest digital sales in Tamil cinema this year.

The Greatest of All Time has generated considerable buzz among cinephiles. The movie marks Vijay's maiden collaboration with director Venkat Prabhu, contributing to the massive pre-release hype.

The filmmakers have revealed very little about the project. Earlier, speculations suggested that this film was an official remake of the Hollywood blockbuster Gemini Man. The film's first-look poster featuring Vijay in a double role further fueled this theory. Vijay's looks, one younger and another older, were reminiscent of Will Smith's looks in Gemini Man.

The 2019 Hollywood movie tells the story of a retired assassin who is hunted by a clone version of himself. However, Venkat Prabhu has denied such claims, noting that The Greatest of All Time is his original work.

The Greatest of All Time will hit screens worldwide on September 5.
