Thalapathy Vijay praises Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja post OTT release, meets Nithilan Saminathan

Thalapathy Vijay, who is busy shooting for his upcoming movie The Greatest Of All Time, finally watched the latest Tamil hit, Maharaja, following its streaming debut this week . In a kind gesture, Vijay invited director Nithilan Saminathan and discussed the movie with him in detail.

Buoyed by Vijay's praise, Nithilan shared a heartfelt note expressing his gratitude for Vijay's support. "Dear @actorvijay anna... Thank you for this enlightening meeting. Vijay is one of the big admirers of Vijay Sethupathi's acting skills. The duo shared screen space in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master. Sethupathi played the main antagonist in the movie and added great value to its appeal.

Maharaja made its streaming debut on Netflix recently and is garnering positive reviews from audiences. The film also performed exceptionally well in theatres, giving Sethupathi's career a much-needed confidence boost. It has been a while since Sethupathi's solo movie made a dent at the box office. Before the release of Maharaja, questions were raised about Sethupathi's ability to draw audiences to theatres. However, the movie proved all his critics wrong by grossing more than Rs 100 crore in global ticket sales. Maharaja became Sethupathi's first solo film in his career to achieve this box office feat.

Maharaja is a revenge drama that revolves around a father's quest to hunt down and punish those who destroyed everything he holds dear. The film also stars Anurag Kashyap, Natty (Natraj), and Bharathiraja among others.
