Tabu reveals why Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was such a big success

Actress Tabu has time and again proven her acting mettle with films such as Drishyam, Andhadhun, and Crew, among others. The actress has been lauded both for her nuanced portrayal in indie films as well as her dramatic characters in big Bollywood movies such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which became a blockbuster hit at the box office. Speaking about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in an interview recently, Tabu said that the film had a charm and that is why it struck a chord with the audience and was such a big success.

During a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Tabu was asked about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and whether she would like to do that genre again because that was a different version of her for so many people. Tabu responded to the question by saying that it was the charm of the film and maybe that is why it struck a chord or got the kind of success it received.

Tabu added that she is not particular about the kind of genre she would or would not do. The actress said, “If it’s a great character I would love to do it.”

When Kartik Aaryan got Covid

Speaking about her acting projects, Tabu said that she has been working on back-to-back projects for the past several years, especially since Covid. She added that they had to cancel the shoot in May 2020 because Kartik Aaryan got Covid and they resumed in August, and since then she has been working every single day.

In 2023, Tabu was seen in Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s horror-comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 that earned more than Rs 100 crore at the box office. Tabu plays the double role of twin sisters Anjulika and Manjulika in the film. Her characters are the turning point in the film that add a layer of drama to the storyline.

Tabu in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha

On the work front, Tabu is currently busy promoting the release of her upcoming film Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, alongside actor Ajay Devgn. The film will release on July 5 and tells the tale of a couple who reunites after 20 years.
