Taapsee Pannu on how difficult it was to romance Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki: ‘You are in a certain danger..’

As we step into 2024, we can’t help but remember how wonderful 2023 was for Bollywood’s beloved superstar Shah Rukh Khan. He began the year with a smashing comeback in and as Pathaan before winning the country over in Atlee Kumar’s Jawan. He ended 2023 on a high note when he rocked theatres yet again with Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. The film marked his first collaboration with the filmmaker as well as his leading lady Taapsee Pannu. It was refreshing to see the actors together and their chemistry was nothing short of adorable. But even though it didn’t reflect on screen, Taapsee had a difficult time romancing the ‘King of romance’.

In a recent interview with Times Of India, Taapsee revealed that Shah Rukh has a warm personality, like we have heard from several other actors. She shared that he does not have an intimidating personality. However, over the years she had seen him shine on screen which is why she often ‘froze’ in the moment on set. Taapsee was quoted saying, “So you're putting up this very confident and brave front, but you know, mentally, you are in a certain danger looking at him.” The beauty admitted that it took her some time to get used to it and snap back to reality.

Talking about how hard it was to romance the Baadshah of Bollywood, the actress revealed, “Actually, when your eyes meet, when he is looking at you with those expressions, you immediately have that deja vu of those classic romantic films that he has done and we have loved him in those films.” Taapsee explained that during the initial days of shooting, it was difficult for her to not freeze when SRK looked at her ‘lovingly’. Well, thanks to our undying love for the superstar, we can totally understand Taapsee and the challenge she faced on set!
