Taapsee Pannu got offers in Bollywood because of her resemblance to THIS popular actress?

Taapsee Pannu has proven her acting prowess with her performance in films such as Manmarziyaan, Haseen Dillruba and Thappad, among others. But do you know that her resemblance to a popular actress is what paved her entry into the world of cinema.

Speaking in an interview, Taapsee revealed that she got offers from this industry because of her resemblance to popular actress Preity Zinta. The Veer-Zaara actress, Preity, was known for her nuanced portrayal of characters and charming personality.

During a conversation with Shikhar Dhawan on his chat show Dhawan Karenge, Taapsee revealed her earlier days of shooting films in South India. "Many thought that I was a new version of Preity Zinta. That was the reason I got offers in Bollywood. She has a very positive energy, and you know it better than me because you must have interacted with her more. I have only seen her on TV or the big screen.”

Speaking about Preity’s personality and how Taapsee tries her best to be like her, the actress said that Preity Zinta is someone who can be lively with brains. “I felt like I had to live up to that reputation for which they brought me into the industry because of her name. So, I always put in some effort to be like her,” she added.

Taapsee made her acting debut with the 2010 Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam and her Hindi debut alongside Pakistani actor Ali Zafar in Chashme Baddoor. She was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s 2023-released film Dunki, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Taapsee will be seen next in Mudassar Aziz’s Khel Khel Mein alongside Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Pragya Jaiswal and Fardeen Khan.

The actress has been shying away from the spotlight ever since she tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Mathias Boe in Udaipur in March 2024. The leaked clips from her wedding were doing the rounds on the internet at the time.
