Sushmita's second date of birth, ‘27/02/2023’, commemorates the date when she suffered a massive heart attack while shooting for Aarya. She added this as her second birth date because it symbolises her second birth. Her actual birth date is 19/11/1975.

The actress has not given any official statement regarding her decision to add another date of birth, but sources close to her and her fans are speculating that the actress did it to mark a life-changing moment. After suffering a heart attack and undergoing surgery, Sushmita took some time off to recover.

Sushmita is a former Miss Universe who ventured into Bollywood at a very young age. The actress adopted her first daughter, Renee, when she was just 24 years old. She adopted her second daughter, Alisah, at the age of 34.

Sushmita’s journey as a single mother

During a recent interview, Sushmita spoke about being a single mother. She said, “I want to give myself a pat on my back as a mother every day. I am not someone who has to be told ki aap kitni achchi maa hain (...how good you are as a mother). I already know that.”

Speaking about being a single mother and an actress, Sushmita added, “It was challenging throughout because I have done it alone. And so, the perception that 'Oh! She is Sushmita Sen, and she can do it, is not true.”

On the work front, Sushmita made her acting debut with Mahesh Bhatt's 1996 film, Dastak. She was last seen on screen in the JioCinemas web series Taali in which she played the transgender activist Gauri Sawant.
