    It's official! Pooja Hegde and Malayalam actor Jayaram have officially joined Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming film, Suriya 44. The filmmakers took to social media to welcome the actors to the project.

    Welcoming the female lead, Pooja Hegde, the makers wrote on social media, “A killer on screen! Delighted to have the dazzling diva @hegdepooja with us for #Suriya44.” The poster features Pooja in traditional attire. 

    Meanwhile, Malayalam actor Jayaram was welcomed with a post that read, “A man who breathes versatility and humour!! He lives in his performances. #Jayaram joins the talents of #Suriya44.” His poster featured him in a trimmed hairdo.

    Earlier reports mentioned that another Malayalam actor, Joju George, is set to reunite with his Jagame Thandhiram director, Karthik Subbaraj, in Suriya 44. Joju George has reportedly been cast in a pivotal role, though an official announcement is still awaited.

    Suriya 44 shoot begins at Port Blair

    Karthik announced that the first schedule of Suriya44 has begun in Port Blair, Andaman. Earlier today, Jayaram and lead actor Suriya were spotted at the Port Blair airport, confirming that Jayaram will be part of the first schedule and will play a pivotal role in the film. Suriya, who is also joining this schedule, was seen greeting fans at the airport.

    Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Suriya 44 marks Karthik’s maiden collaboration with Suriya after his 2023 blockbuster Jigarthanda DoubleX. Suriya44 is co-producing the movie under his 2D Entertainment banner and Karthik's Stone Bench Films. 

    An earlier poster featured an arrow piercing the bark of a tree, with flames in the background and the silhouette of a car. The tagline under the poster read, “#Love Laughter War,” hinting that the film might be an action-packed romantic comedy.
