Tamil superstar Suriya turned 49 on Tuesday. He's currently busy shooting for his next movie with director Karthik Subbaraj, tentatively titled Suriya 44. He's also awaiting the release of his much-anticipated film Kanguva. However, one of his future projects that has captured the imagination of Tamil audiences is Vaadivaasal.

Vaadivaasal is set to mark Suriya's first collaboration with Vetrimaaran, a key factor contributing to the excitement among fans. However, this project has not gone on the floors as expected, leading fans to wonder whether this collaboration will ever materialize.

With Suriya signing new films with other directors and Vetrimaaran still shooting Viduthalai Part 2, rumours have suggested a bleak outlook for Vaadivaasal going into production anytime soon. In a recent interview, producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu assured fans of Suriya and Vetrimaaran not to worry, stating that the project is very much in the pipeline.

The seasoned producer revealed that extensive pre-production work is underway and that soon some "miracles will happen."

"The world will be stunned by Vaadivaasal. We shot Vaadivaasal for three days, and during that period, we understood the dangers involved in this production. So, director Vetrimaaran is now exploring alternative ways to shoot this film. Vetrimaaran should also first finish Viduthalai Part 2; after that, we will begin this," he said.

Vaadivaasal refers to the narrow gate or opening where the bull is released into the arena during the sport of Jallikattu. The film is expected to revolve around the connection between humans and beasts and the historical and cultural significance of Jallikattu. The film is based on the book of the same name.

Besides Suriya, the filmmakers have also roped in Andrea Jeremiah and Ameer Sultan to play key roles.
