Suriya set to collaborate with a Kannada director? All the details are here...

Tamil star Suriya, who is currently shooting for Suriya 44 (tentative title) with director Karthik Subbaraj, has several projects lined up for the next couple of years. The actor, who has been on a signing spree, has been booked by well-known filmmakers for their projects. With the release of his period fantasy drama Kanguva around the corner, the actor’s schedule is super packed.

Suriya and Narthan to collaborate on a film?

Now, according to sources, the actor is reportedly in talks with Kannada director Narthan for a massive-scale project. Narthan, well-known for directing Shivarajkumar's blockbuster film Mufti, has now directed a prequel to Mufti titled Bhairathi Ranagal, which is slated for release on August 15, 2024. 

The latest buzz is that the filmmaker is in talks with Suriya about a fresh script, and they are likely to collaborate on the director's next project. Although negotiations are going on, if everything goes as planned, Tamil and Kannada fans can expect a fresh new actor-director collaboration soon.

Interestingly, the project is said to be taken over by KVN Productions, which will also be bankrolling Kannada superstar Yash’s film Toxic. The production house was previously in the news for in talks to produce Thalapathy Vijay's last film before his retirement, Thalapathy 69. Now, this new update has gone viral and social media users are eagerly awaiting an official announcement soon.

Suriya’s other projects

Meanwhile, the Kanguva star is currently shooting for his 44th film with Karthik Subbaraj, which stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead, and Jayaram, Karunakaran, and Joju George as part of the supporting cast.

Besides Suriya 44, the actor is gearing up for the worldwide release of his period fantasy film Kanguva on October 10, 2024. The film, directed by Siva, has Bobby Deol playing the antagonist. 

The actor also has Purananooru, directed by Sudha Kongara, work on which is yet to begin.
