Stree 2 box office collection: Shraddha Kapoor-starrer emerges as the 6th highest-grossing Hindi film, beats Baahubali 1 and KGF 2

After becoming the biggest opener of 2024, the film has surpassed SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus film, Baahubali: The Beginning and Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2, in terms of domestic box office collections. Stree 2 became the biggest opener of 2024 with a box office collection of Rs 55.40 crore on day one of its release. The film, the sequel to Stree, achieved this exceptional success at the box office despite a box office clash with Akshay Kumar-starrer Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa.

Stree becomes 6th highest-grossing Hindi film

After breaking the 2024 records, the Amar Kaushik - directed Stree 2 went on to become the 6th highest-grossing Hindi film of all time with a total domestic collection of Rs 445 crore. The film has to beat Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (Rs 505 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 511 crore), Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (Rs 524 crore), Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 (Rs 525 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 584 crore) to reach the top position.

Stree 2 beats Baahubali: The Beginning and KGF: Chapter 2 at box office

Stree 2 even surpassed the domestic box office records of blockbuster films like Baahubali: The Beginning and KGF: Chapter 2. SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster film, Baahubali: The Beginning, released in 2015, earned a total of Rs 420 crore at the domestic box office, while Yash’s 2022 released film KGF: Chapter 2 earned Rs 435 crore.

Helmed by Jayprad Desai, Stree 2 is a horror-comedy film starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, among others. The film is set in the fictional town of Chanderi which is haunted by a spirit called Sarkata who abducts women with modern thinking.
