    Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor are back with the sequel to their popular horror comedy film, Stree 2. The buzz around the film has been high ever since the makers revealed that it was in the making. Stree 2 is another addition to Maddock’s horror comedy universe, and it will be released in theatres sooner than you expected.

    Stree 2 release date unveiled

    Taking to X (formerly Twitter), critic Taran Adarsh wrote, “SHRADDHA KAPOOR - RAJKUMMAR RAO: ‘STREE 2’ ARRIVES ON 15 AUG INDEPENDENCE DAY… #JioStudios and #DineshVijan announce the new release date of #Stree2: 15 Aug 2024 #IndependenceDay.”

    He added that Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again has been postponed to Diwali, which is why Stree 2 has taken Singham Again’s original release date: August 15. It is interesting to note that both movies are backed by Jio Studios. Other noteworthy Independence Day releases are Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 and John Abraham's Vedaa.

    The makers of Stree 2 also revealed the release date in a video announcement. The caption read, “Iss swatantrata diwas, aa rahi hai #Stree fir se! #Stree2 in cinemas this Independence Day, 15th August 2024. Catch the #Stree2 Teaser exclusively in cinemas with #Munjya from today.”

    The makers of Stree 2 revealed that the teaser for the film will be attached to the newly-released film Munjya, which stars Sharvari Wagh, Mona Singh and Abhay Verma.

    Speaking about the teaser, one user wrote in the comment section, "Just watched the teaser Woahhhh it will be blockbuster moviee.” Another wrote, “Shraddhiee. What a teaser.”

    Stree 2 is the sequel film to Rajkummar and Shraddha’s 2018 film Stree, which was a hit. Helmed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. It is part of the producer’s horror-comedy universe, which includes films such as Stree, Roohi, Bhediya and now Munjya.
