Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor starrer surpasses the Rs 100 crore club; pockets 125 crore crores!

A few days back, we had reviewed the trailer of the Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2. That time we had predicted that, if the trailer is anything to go by, the film will surely smash many records. We had also mentioned one historic line stating, ‘Stree came, Stree saw, Stree conquered’! Well… the time of truth has finally arrived and as predicted and anticipated, Stree 2 is on a record-breaking spree and at a record-breaking speed!

After having opened to a staggering Rs 60.3 crore nett in India (which included the paid previews on Wednesday), the film has now pocketed a cool Rs. 30 crores (nett) on its second day, as per the report in the most reliable industry tracker Sacnilk. Which only means that, with the horror comedy Stree 2 collecting a mega total of Rs 90.3 crore (nett), the film is expected to smoothly sail into the Rs 100 crore mark today (August 17).

There are many factors which seem to be working in the favour of the film. Firstly, the film happens to be the much-awaited sequel of the sleeper hit ‘Stree’, secondly, the magical on-screen chemistry between Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor has now become the talking point. Third and the most important aspect in the film is its world class VFX, which has blown the minds of the cinegoers!

The Amar Kaushik directed Stree 2, which has now emerged as the biggest Hindi hit of the year (2024), has already surpassed the second day box office collections of the Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2, which was released during Independence Day last year. While Gadar 2 collected Rs. 83.18 crore in two days, Stree 2 stands strong at Rs 90.3 crore! The film is now expected to break many other records as well.

Speaking of Stree 2, the film was released along with Akshay Kumar starrer Khel Khel Mein (which made Rs. 1.9 crore on its second day) and John Abraham starrer Vedaa (which Rs 1.6 crore on its second day).

With the holidays stretching upto Monday (August 19- Raksha Bandhan), it seems Stree 2 (with the tagline (O’ Stree, Raksha Karna) … will surely ‘protect’ the film from any kind of competition! Besides Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, the film ‘Stree 2’ also stars the veteran actor Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee in important roles. Besides them, there’s stunning cameos by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannah Bhatia.
