Stree 2 box office collection day 18: Shraddha Kapoor starrer enters the Rs 500 crore mark at domestic box office

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer horror-comedy film Stree 2 has broken box office records, from becoming the biggest opener of 2024 to crossing the Rs 600 crore mark at global box office collections. Without any major box office clashes, the film is still earning money in crores even in third week of its release and has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at domestic box office.

According to Sacnilk.com, Stree 2 earned Rs 22 on day 18 (September 1) of its release. The film collected Rs 16.5 on Saturday (August 31) with a total weekend collection more than Rs 38 crore.  

Now the total domestic box office collection of Stree 2 stands at Rs 502.35 crore. The film is expected to cross the Rs 500 crore mark domestically in a few days, becoming one of the most successful films of Bollywood.  

The film has to beat Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (Rs 505 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 511 crore), Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (Rs 524 crore), Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 (Rs 525 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 584 crore) to reach the top position.

Helmed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Vijay Raaz is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande under their banners Maddock Films and Jio Studios. The film is a sequel to the 2018 film Stree and is part of Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe, which also includes Roohi, Bhediya and Munjya. The film even featured cameos of Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar.  

The film is set in the fictional town of Chanderi which is haunted by a spirit called Sarkata who abducts women with modern thinking. To fight Sarkata, the people seek help from Stree’s daughter, played by Shraddha Kapoor in the film.
