Sonali Bendre became an inspiration for many after she battled cancer in the year 2018 and also did not shy away from speaking about her journey. The actress recently revisited the hospital where she had undergone treatment and inevitably, it brought back several bitter-sweet memories to her. Sonali took to her social media handle to pen a heartfelt post on reliving her tryst with cancer.
The actress shared a reel video wherein she could be seen sitting in the exact same location during her treatment phase. The video begins with the Sarfarosh actress sitting on the sofa in the doctor’s office in the present stage. The video then shows two flashback pictures wherein Sonali Bendre can be seen sitting with her husband Goldie Behl on that exact same sofa from her chemotherapy phase and presumably from the time when she first visited the hospital. She gave the Imagine Dragons’ song ‘Whatever It Takes’ in the background of the video.
Sonali Bendre also gave a heartwarming caption for the same. The Hum Saath Saath Hain actress wrote, “This chair, this view, this exact same spot… 4 years later. From sheer terror to continued hope, so much has changed yet so much remains the same.” Sonali furthermore stated that she wishes to tell the patients who are now in place of her at the hospital that there is ‘hope.’
She went on to state, “It was unreal to sit there and see patients going in and I could see that I had been through a similar journey... saw the chemotherapy suite, the same waiting room, faces were different… I felt like telling the patients that there’s HOPE, and I am there on the other side, and look at me today I have come in for a visit on the other side of the spectrum. It was, as you can guess, a very bittersweet, emotional day. I stepped out, looked my son in the eye, with the sunshine on my face, and thanked the universe for everything.” Celebs like Shweta Bachchan , Shriya Pilgaonkar , Abhishek Bachchan , Maheep Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza , and Sussanne Khan poured in some love on Sonali Bendre’s post.
