The ongoing fiasco between Falguni Pathak and Neha Kakkar has been grabbing several eyeballs wherein the Garba Queen has expressed her serious displeasure with Neha remaking her cult song ‘Maine Payal Hain’. However, Falguni herself received a lot of backlash after she was seen in one of the latest promos of Indian Idol 13 which is being judged by Neha. Now, singer Sona Mohapatra has come out in the defense of Pathak and also took a sharp dig at the ‘remake’ culture in the mainstream music industry.

In one of her tweets from the given thread, Sona Mohapatra wrote, “Why are people so silly that they’re buying into the PR release of a reality show trying to ride the #FalguniPathak news cycle & discredit her reaction as a publicity stunt? Don’t they know that such shows record episodes much in advance & she must not have a clue then?” furthermore stating that the incident with Falguni Pathak and Neha Kakkar should be a lesson for all the music creators. The ‘Ambarsariya’ singer further stated, “I can only hope that the music labels & #Bollywood film producers killing the creative community & creators by commissioning short-cuts; remakes, remixes take note of the public backlash on the recent #FalguniPathak hit. Also, dear #India , do stand up more often to such.” Take a look at her tweets.

However, what also didn’t go unnoticed was that Sona Mohapatra also called the rendition of the song ‘Manike’ from Sri Lankan singer Yohani in the movie Thank God to be puke-worthy. The ‘Naina’ singer went on to state, “the constant showcasing of a lack of courage to back new compositions, songwriters, disrespecting creators, writers has destroyed the fabric of what made #Bollywood music culturally relevant. The horror of the Sri Lankan Manike Mage remade, case in point2. Puke worthy for me.”

Talking about the same, recently Falguni Pathak was also criticized for appearing on Indian Idol 13 and talking pleasantly with Neha Kakkar. Some netizens alleged that Pathak was also taking up publicity by ‘posing’ to be upset with Neha Kakkar for remaking her song. Well, for now, the controversy between Falguni and Neha refuses to die down.
