SK 23: Working in Tamil cinema is my greatest high, says Vidyut Jammwal

    Vidyut Jamwal’s return to Kollywood has been exciting news for Tamil cinephiles who adored the actor’s previous roles in Thuppakki and Anjaan. When it was announced that the actor would be collaborating with director AR Murugadoss for his upcoming film with Sivakarthikeyan, SK 23, fans couldn't keep calm.

    Recently, in an interview, the actor opened up about his role in the film and how he felt returning to Tamil cinema. “The hero and antagonist should be equally good, and AR Murugadoss is one of the best directors in that genre. He came to me and said, ‘Vidyut, I wish to recreate something we have done in the past, like do something excellent with you.’ I heard the story and it's phenomenal, and I am currently shooting for it, which I am excited about,” the actor said.

    He added, “For me, working in Tamil cinema is one of my personal greatest highs. I love working there and the love I get from the audiences. So I enjoy giving it back to them.”

    Earlier, the makers of SK 23 welcomed the actor as the antagonist and shared the exciting update through a stylish video.

    Vidyut Jammwal, who worked in Kollywood as the antagonist in AR Murugadoss and Vijay’s action thriller Thuppakki, earned massive critical acclaim for his role as the leader of a sleeper cell. SK 23 will mark his second collaboration with the popular Tamil filmmaker. Interestingly, SK 23 will also mark the actor’s return to Tamil cinema after a 10-year hiatus. The actor’s last Tamil movie appearance was in the Suriya-starrer Anjaan.

    Billed as a complete action flick, Sivakarthikeyan will be seen in a different avatar in this actioner. While Vidyut and Vikranth are confirmed cast members in the film, the makers are also eyeing to bring other stars, including Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Biju Menon, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Sanjay, and Sachana Namidass. Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth will be playing the female lead in this film, which also marks her Tamil debut. Going by the cast, it looks like AR Murugadoss is planning to go pan-India with his next!
