Seasoned Malayalam actor Biju Menon is making a comeback in Tamil cinema after a long hiatus with the project, temporarily titled SK 23. Starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, the film is written and directed by ace filmmaker AR Murugadoss.

According to the latest reports, Biju Menon is essaying the role of the main antagonist in the movie. SK 23 is Biju Menon's first Tamil film in 14 years. The last Tamil movie he appeared in was Porkkalam, which came out in 2010.

Biju Menon's acting career took a new dimension following the new wave in Malayalam cinema. He has managed to deliver some of the biggest industry hits like Ayyappanum Koshiyum. He was recently seen in Thallumaala, in which he shared screen space with Asif Ali. The cop thriller was released in cinemas earlier this year to positive reviews and became a hit at the box office.

SK 23 is being mounted on a massive scale, with a huge budget. It's speculated that director Murugadoss initially had plans to cast Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role for this movie. However, the expected collaboration didn't happen, paving the way for Sivakarthikeyan to join hands with Murugadoss. The film marks a maiden collaboration between Murugadoss and Sivakarthikeyan, creating a lot of anticipation among fans of Tamil cinema.

SK 23 also marks Rukmini Vasanth's debut in Tamil cinema. Vidyut Jammwal is also playing a key role in the movie. This is his second film with Murugadoss after the blockbuster Thuppakki in 2012.

Murugadoss is simultaneously shooting a Hindi film with Superstar Salman Khan. Titled Sikandar, the film went on the floors in June this year. It also stars Sathyaraj and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.
