Tamil star Silambarasan was one of the high-profile guests at the grand audio launch event of the upcoming movie, Indian 2. The occasion was special as he is also playing a key role in Thug Life alongside Kamal Haasan. "I am very happy for the opportunity to act with Kamal sir. Thug Life shooting is going very well," he said.

Simbu noted that Thug Life and his movie, STR 48, will mark his entry into the pan-India bandwagon. The success of director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali series created a box office phenomenon called 'pan-India.' There is a growing realization that people across North India are open to supporting and enjoying South Indian blockbusters. Filmmakers are now dubbing movies in multiple languages and releasing them simultaneously to reach a wider audience, making "pan-India" an operative term in production houses across the country.

Silambarasan also nurtures ambitions of expanding his fan base beyond Tamil Nadu and into other parts of India with his upcoming movies. He addressed the rumours about him facing strict action from the producers' council. Some reports claimed that the council might issue a red card to Simbu, which could prevent Tamil producers and directors from working with him. However, Simbu said no such action was in the pipeline.

"These are speculations. There were little issues, but we have sorted them out through dialogues," Simbu said.

Earlier, Simbu has been accused of unprofessional behaviour by various filmmakers. He has faced allegations of being tardy and inconsiderate of the challenges faced by the filmmakers, causing huge monetary losses to the producers. For example, director Adhik Ravichandran blamed Simbu for the failure of Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan. Recently, producer Ishari K. Ganesh approached the producers' council against Simbu. He complained that Simbu had promised to immediately start shooting for his movie, but instead, the star joined the sets of Thug Life.
