Life has come full circle for actor Siddharth after sharing screen space with his movie idol, Kamal Haasan. He's playing a key supporting role in Indian 2, which stars Kamal in the iconic Senapathy character.

Siddharth confessed that he has been a fan of Kamal since he could remember, and he also considers him his "acting guru."

"Kamal Haasan is my favourite actor. Admiring him and loving him as an actor from afar is my whole life. I consider him a teacher. He's always in the back of my head, and even in my first film (Boys), I thought about him while acting," Siddharth told Galatta Plus.

Siddharth revealed that he was hoping to receive plenty of acting tips from Kamal. But, he ended up learning something totally different. He discovered the secret behind how Kamal remains a force to reckon with even after working in movies for over 60 years.

"I went in expecting to meet a person who will teach me a lot. But what I found is still a student and learning a lot. Kamal sir is so curious. The person I call 'university' is still going in and studying new things every day. He's constantly adapting and constantly learning. That's something that will stay with me," he added.

Indian 2 also marks Siddharth's reunion with director Shankar after a gap of 20 years. He made his acting debut with Shankar's Boys in 2003 and instantly became a bankable talent in Tamil cinema.

He described Indian 2 as a huge responsibility, considering the weightage that the movie enjoys among fans across the country. He also noted that his character has a lot of depth in the narrative.

Indian 2 is due in cinemas on July 12.
