Shraddha Kapoor in Naagin: Nikhil Dwivedi REVEALS the reason for roping in Stree 2 star for the film

With the year 2024 nearing a closure in just a few days from now, if one has to look back and find the name of the person who has had the most fruitful year, then, it has to be none other than the spunky ‘Stree’ Shraddha Kapoor. She is that one person to whom the year 2024 rightfully belonged to and how! Her film Stree 2 not just beat many other big daddy films, but also went onto become one of the one of the blockbusters of the year.

The success of Stree 2 has opened many doors and avenues for Shraddha Kapoor, who is now considered as the lucky mascot of many filmmakers. No wonder then, many are eagerly waiting to see the lady in action in her next film Naagin.

Talking about Naagin, the film’s producer Nikhil Dwivedi, in a recent interview with India Today, gave out some important information (read ‘update’) about the film. He said, “Finally, the script is ready now. It has taken us three years to script it. We have redone the entire script three times, and now I can say that it's finally ready."

When asked about the film and the reason to make it, Nikhil Dwivedi said, while it was a completely brand-new subject, it had no connection with previous films and the reason, cited by him, to make this was that Indian folklore is actually very rich in ideas.

In the same direction, he said that, we (referring to Indians) ‘get very excited when a spider bites a man, and he becomes Spider-Man. But we kind of look down upon a woman turning into a snake. Give us a chance, and we’ll turn it on its head, and you will see quite a supernatural and different film."

Nikhil Dwivedi, then, went on to reveal the answer to the most important question- factors influenced his decision to cast Shraddha Kapoor! In his reply, he said, “Her versatility and screen presence made her an ideal choice for Naagin. It was decided from the beginning that only Shraddha Kapoor would play Naagin. We’re thrilled that she’s on board. She has an ethereal quality about her,” Dwivedi said.

And when Nikhil Dwivedi was asked about how Shraddha Kapoor reacted to the film, he said that, she was excited and that she was the first one to come on board. He added that he had approached her first with the idea, and she was sold! He also added that she couldn’t wait to start the shoot!

Nikhil Dwivedi summed up Shraddha’s excitement by saying, “Now that the script is ready. We are just figuring out how to take it to the floors as soon as possible. It will most likely go on floors next year."
