Emraan Hashmi about his character in Showtime

Emraan plays the role of Raghu Khanna, the son of a producer, whose inheritance is under threat after his father’s death.  Speaking about his character in Showtime, Emraan told Scroll, “Raghu is your quintessential Bollywood producer, but he is also one very entertaining guy. He’s very brash and in your face. He’s a workaholic. He’s a little larger than life but very real too. Below the surface, there is a certain human angle that the writer and directors brought out that stayed with me. You hate him in the beginning but then these layers start to peel off and you get to know the real Raghu Khanna as well.”

The first four episodes of the series premiered on March 8. All the other episodes will premiere on July 12 on Disney+ Hotstar. Created by Sumit Roy and directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, Showtime stars Naseeruddin Shah, Mouni Roy, Mahima Makwana, Rajeev Khandelwal and Vijay Raaz.

Speaking about the series, producer Karan Johar said, “Showtime is a series that is very close to my heart, it gives a closer look into the power struggles of the showbiz. The show will ensure that battle lines are drawn and crossed and keeps the camera rolling with the audiences clapping."
