Shershaah star Sidharth Malhotra remembers Captain Vikram Batra on 25th death anniversary - ‘Your fearless actions and ultimate...’

Actor Sidharth Malhotra has featured in a number of films such as Student of the Year, Yodha, Ek Villain, and Mission Majnu. But one of his most notable performances is his portrayal of Captain Vikram Batra in the 2021 released film Shershaah. Remembering Captain Vikram Batra on his 25th death anniversary, Sidharth took to his social media and penned a heartfelt note for him.

Taking to Instagram, Sidharth shared a picture of Captain Vikram Batra, dressed in his army uniform. Along with the picture, Sidharth wrote, “Param Vir Chakra, Captain Vikram Batra, it's been 25 years since your fearless actions and ultimate sacrifice made history. Your legacy to this day remains the highest ideals of bravery and honor.”

He concluded the post by saying, “We remember and honor you today and always for “Yeh Dil Mange More” Jai Hind.

Who is Captain Vikram Batra?

For the unversed, Captain Vikram Batra was in charge of 13th battalion of the JAKRIF regiment of the Indian Army during the Kargil War in 1999. He breathed his last on the battlefield while fighting Pakistani soldiers. He was awarded the highest wartime gallantry award Param Vir Chakra for his bravery and courage. 'Yeh Dil Mange More' was his victory slogan and he was also known by other names such as Tiger of Drass, the Lion of Kargil and Kargil Hero.

Actor Sidharth Malhotra portrayed Vikram Batra's journey and his romantic relationship with Dimple in the 2021-released film Shershaah, alongside Kiara Advani.

Raatan Lambiyan, Ranjha and Mann Bharrya are some of the popular songs of the film. Shershaah won the Special Jury Award at tge 69th National Film Awards.

Sidharth later tied the knot with his Shershaah co-star Kiara Advani in 2023.
